That's it. This was my last project before my senior thesis project!!!
I can't believe how extremely far I've come and how fast life has
been going lately! Back to this project though... My inspiration was
stained glass windows, particularly Gothic arches. I knitted this
sweater using a plain ole knit stitch. I used black and white mercerized
(treated for softness and shine) cotton yarn. After patterning,
knitting (in some cases re-knitting), blocking, and joining my pieces I
hand sewed on all of the I-cords that create the window pattern on the
front. I also sewed the under dress out of a stretch cotton sateen.
It's just a simple a-line pink mini dress with a keyhole in the back.
My critique went great, but more importantly I'm so incredibly proud of this project! I feel like it joins all of my aesthetic interests perfectly; it's graphic, a little mod, minimal, and a little fun! Plus, I finished 5 hours before the critique, got plenty of sleep every night, and had absolutely NO melt downs during it's creation. That my friends is a miracle. I finally know how to plan projects and manage time effectively.
p.s. Thanks to my beautiful friend Catherine who is a fashion product design major for being my muse and model!
