The band I'm most looking forward to on Friday is All Get Out. They
are one of my favorite bands. I'm guessing Mallory is most looking forward
to Ra Ra Riot. As for Humble Home, I don't know much about them,
but I listened to about 5 seconds and liked it well enough. Emily & The
Complexes actually just finished recording with my friend, Joe Dunlap,
so I'm pretty excited to hear them for the first time.
Mancester Orchestra, Kevin Devine, Weezer, and The Gaslight Anthem
There aren't a lot of bands I'm dying to see on Saturday other than
Manchester Orchestra. I've been a fan of them for quite a few years
now, and have seen them live multiple times. Although, I'm never completely satisfied with their live show,
Andy Hull is one of the most heartfelt songwriters
that I know of. I don't listen to Weezer a lot, but I can respect what
they've done for music, and if they play mostly old stuff, I think the
show will be pretty solid.
Belle Histoire, Maps & Atlases, Pomegranates, The Seedy Seeds, City & Colour, Good Old War, Neon Trees, Passion Pit, Margot & the Nuclear So & So's, and Death Cab for Cutie
Sunday is the day we are most looking forward to. We have a couple
friends coming up from Tennessee this day, and the music selection is
out of this world. How often does a person get to see Pomegranates, Death Cab,
and Good Old War on the same day? Only once! I've been
hooked on Good Old War's newest album since it's release, and it seems
like it will be the perfect sound for a big open field on a summer day. You already know how in love Mallory is with Death Cab, so she's really excited.
Belle Histoire is a local band from Cincinnati formed with a few people we know, so I'm excited to see them play such
a huge festival. We saw Maps & Atlases a few years ago with
mewithoutYou. Their guitar work is just crazy good, so as a musician, I'm pumped to watch and hear them again.
You can see the whole map of Sawyer Point/Yeatman's Cove right here
so you can plan your way around. They even have a free App with all of the information. Besides music, there are also a few booths that I'm excited to visit. One is
Techbury, which is a place for you try out new products and gadgets. The
good news is they seem to be basically letting you play with all these
things, and not pressuring you to buy something
at the same time. They also have misting stations for the hot July weather!
