The To-Do List: 90s fashion & free tix

The movie The To-Do List comes out this Friday!  It looks so hilarious & awesomely 90s.  The cast includes Aubrey Plaza (Parks and Rec), Bill Hader, Alia Shawkat (Arrested Development), Rachel Bilson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Superbad), Donald Glover, and Andy Samberg.  For this post we're partnering up to share how to update the best of 90s fashion.  The 90s are really making a comeback in the fashion industry lately.  Here's 3 looks inspired by ones shown in the movie!

There were so many crazy florals in the 90s, like this tropical one on Aubrey Plaza (Oh the tropics, please no more puka shell necklaces ever again).  I chose a pretty watercolor floral tank instead.  Then I paired it with darker denim shorts to dress it up more.  The gold belt gives a little nod back to the 90s.

Rachel Bilson always looks like a total babe, but the stonewashed skirt paired with a denim crop top is too much stiff fabric for current times.  If I had both pieces I would still wear them, but paired with a different fabric like my silk top or knit skirt.  Crop tops are REALLY on trend right now, you can find them anywhere or DIY your own.  However, please put them with higher waist bottoms so you don't look naked.  You can also choose a bright color or graphic print to make your look pop!

In this film still Aubrey has on a quintessential drop waist, floral dress from the 90s.  Okay, but let's talk about Donald Glovers overalls.  Actually, overalls in general are amazing.  I've seen them on all sorts of stylish ladies lately, especially Alexa Chung.  Mine actually are thrifted 90s, but I'm keeping it modern with a graphic button up (buttoned all the way), a top knot, and a bright pink J.Crew belt.

I have some free ticket redemption codes for my Cincinnati, OH/Northern KY readers for a preview tomorrow night, Tuesday the 23rd at Kenwood Theater.  The first 10 people to enter code
