and I chose to do a look a few weeks ago (I'm behind!) for a makeup post
that would be perfect
for a holiday party! I would wear this look to work on a regular basis
though since it's a nice dressed up brown smoky eye, paired with a bold
red lip. The super awesome Ashley Ross
shot the photos for us again this week. Thanks Ashley!
Jill started out with
Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse
in the airbrush finish, which is just a bit
shimmery. Perfect, since we're talking about a holiday party. She then filled in my brows a bit with MAC
shadow in Wedge.
Next up was a nice base of a light taupe brown on my whole lid from the Urban Decay Naked 2
From the same palette she added a darker brown to the corners of my eyes blending it up into the crease. Next was a golden brown to the lids under the crease to add dimension. Don't forget to blend!
Also, don't forget to conceal those pesky red spots & under eye circles! I adore Makeup Forever Full Cover concealer!
She lined the lower lash line with black Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner. Again, remember to do this with the lash line, not above the lash line!
She lined my top eyelid with black Make Up Forever Aqua Liner
Maybelline ColorSensational Vivids
in Neon Red was the lipstck we chose.
Jill also added just a touch of Hard Candy Blush in Living Doll
on the apples of my cheeks. Then highlighted my brow bone, cupid's bow (above lips), and top of my cheekbones in a C shape up to my eyebrows with Benefit Watt's Up highlighter
. Of course there was also some Maybelline Mega Plush Mascara
There you go, the natural smoky eye, demystified by Jill Ross. I am now all set for choosing a holiday party look! Let us know if you try it out or have any questions. Maybe we should do a Q & A beauty post soon. Feel free to ask anything about makeup or other beauty products in the comments. ♥ Mallory
