Donate this Season

One of my favorite places to shop is Goodwill Industries® (I got our records for our wedding guestbook & the yellow pot below from my local Goodwill).  I constantly have a bag going that I throw things in when I realize I can do without them.  They recently contacted me to share some info about how they enrich our communities & help those in need.  With the holidays upon us it's an even more important time to donate.
When you donate stuff to your local Goodwill you support Goodwill’s efforts to provide a variety of employment services to people in need in your community. This holiday season, we’re encouraging everyone to give thanks by donating used goods to one of Goodwill’s more than 2,700+ locations throughout the country.  To see just how far your donations can go, you can watch these two poignant mini-documentaries, which tell the stories of people whose lives have been transformed through their involvement with Goodwill.

Anitra - A 35-year-old who is able to take care of her disabled mother because of her job at Goodwill.

Candice - A 22-year-old who went from sleeping in her car to becoming a nurse’s assistant because of Goodwill’s job training programs.

Last year, Goodwill provided employment training, job placement, financial education, youth mentoring and more to 6.7 million people in the United States and Canada.  To see how the process works, just watch our “How We Do It” PSA.  Use Goodwill’s locator tool at the top of their homepage to find your nearest Goodwill location (stores, headquarters, job training centers and donation centers).  ♥ Mallory
