Beauty - Our Favorite Nail Polish
Sally Hansen Insta-Dri is hands down our favorite nail polish.  My mom gave me some bottles last Christmas and now it's the only kind I buy!  She and I wanted to show you why we love it so much!  We chose color #170 Expresso because it's a mellow deep mauve pink that's perfect for the post-holiday blues.  We realized while shooting these photos the color is almost spot on the Pantone color of the year, Marsala.

Anyway, we love this polish so much because of the brush and quick drying property.  The brush is actually flat and wide, not the traditional round kind.  This allows you to fan the bristles out as you paint your nail, letting you paint with much less strokes.  As you can tell below I have quite the collection. ♥ Mallory (& Darlene)

Beauty - Jamberry Nails Review
They were fairly easy to put on following the included instructions.  I only needed about a quarter of the sheet for a full manicure.  I sew all the time so I ruin regular nail polish almost the day after painting every time.  I was hoping these would be a great, long-lasting manicure (despite my sewing) and they were!  I took these photos exactly a week after applying them.

The tips wore down a bit, but not as bad as nail polish would have.  All in all I am so happy I tried these out!  This is not a sponsored post I just figured you may be as curious as I was.  However, I know two really awesome ladies who are consultants.  They are my cousin Caitlin and my mom's friend, Amy.  ♥ Mallory
Beauty - Basic Cat Eye Makeup
About a week ago I shared my Everyday Makeup Basics.  On days I want to add a bit of drama and/or days I actually dedicate enough time to getting ready I add a simple graphic cat eye into my routine.  Because my hair stylist extraordinaire, Louisa (501 Salon in Bellevue, KY), knows I love a great liquid eyeliner she suggested I try Benefit They're Real! Push-Up Liner.

It has replaced Makeup Forever Aqua Liner as my favorite.  To use it you twist the bottom so the pencil like gel will fill the pointed rubber applicator.  This took me longer than I care to admit to figure out.  I threw the box into the trash a bit prematurely.  It took me a few applications to get used to the calligraphy pen like tip, but after that I felt confident.  They also sell a specific makeup remover for it, but my generic Walgreens remover works just fine.

I like to start out with a thin line above my upper lashes.  Next I draw the outer angled line to create a nice outline.  I do this step on both eyes before filling the shape in.  What I love about this Benefit liner is how dark and rich the liner looks on!

After that I fill in the triangular shape I created with my base line and angled line.  I usually thicken the line up at the end too.  I have hooded eyelids, so a thin line doesn't make much of an impact on me.  Lastly I touch up any light spots and make sure my wings are equal on each side.  Let me know if you try this out, I'd love to see!  ♥ Mll
