Me!

Since I have a new bunch of bloggy friends I thought I should share some photos of my bedroom at home. I redid it this last summer and put a ton of time and thought into what should/shouldn't have a home there.  I think it's rather pretty, though I still have no duvet cover.

I hope you like it!  My cat slept through the whole photoshoot.  She's precious!

Home Again!
I returned home late last night, but went to Madison's 5th birthday party today!  Madison and I got to butterfly hunt and pick wild flowers.
Madison always says that when Brian and I get married she'll have me as a sister.
Brian's family is really great.  He's such a catch :)

Thumbs up on a great day!

Oh!  I got her the RVA paperdoll set from Renegade, and Brian got her a giant Toy Story coloring book and an art set.
I'll share the rest of the renegade photos and purchases soon!

Here is the progress on my bedroom!
We've moved all my furniture into my room tonight, and while I was away my parents assembled my Ikea headboard.
under $40 Ikea sale
(soon to be replaced purple bedspread and stuff my parents threw onto my bed when I was gone)
$5 garage sale chair (in the hall)
Craigslist find dressers- cost around $150 total, but we had to give them a light sand, 2 coats of paint and new pulls.

Antique show find $25
There were 3 different paint colors in layers, the veneered sides and tops were chipping which is why we had to paint the top and the sides no longer have the pretty wood veneer.
This piece had to be sanded, stripped, sanded again, stripped again in crevices, paint thinned, wood filled, sanded, stained, polyeurethaned x3, top painted x3, and finally got new pulls.

(before shots from around step 2 or 3)
we're going to hang curtains over my closet.  Dad wasn't thrilled we took the hardwood doors down.
book shelf I've always had in my room
only needed 1 coat of new paint, just to insure matching

I spray painted my old cheap curtain rods and new closet rod tonight.
I now have a Midas touch.

We're putting in all the pretties tomorrow and making a boutique wall if you will

Night from a super worn out Mallory
My week in a short photo story
This week I had my first pumpkin spice latte of the year from Starbucks!
(I took this. Link back if you want to share your pumpkin spice love)

Brian and I thrifted for a little bit Friday.  We bought speakers and records for the record player he got me.  We got The Beatles' Introducing... The Beatles, The Rolling Stones' December's Children (and Everybody's), and Randy Newman's Good Old Boys.
YAY!

(other than Beatles photos from Amazon.com)

Tonight I babysat Dash! End of a Hulk popsicle's lifecycle.

I've gotten all this jewelry destash from my aunt's mother-in-law.
The dark purple bangle has a Sak's sticker in it!

She also passed on these sunglasses, which I LOVE!
I'm told more may be on the way!!!

I have a set of the butterflies below that I got at our neighborhood yard sale when I was about 13 along with a coordinating mirror.  I painted them hot pink, bright blue, and purple.
Then my mom brought me two giant ones that were scary flourescent lime and yellow, I thrifted some a while back, and I thrifted these last Friday with Brian.
Now I have a lovely collection that has all gotten a black facelift to match my decor.
If you love them as much as I do you can find them all over Etsy!

I also saw some at High Street which is my absolute favorite store in Cincinnati.
Read their blog.  It's amazing and has trend forecasting.  Super inspiring.
Their store has a few original Shepard Fairey murals if you dig him.
Plus the #2 girl to the owner graduated from my program at UC!

All in all I've had a great week :) Tomorrow is the WEBN fireworks and we're tailgating with the Bengals Bus!
Now I must work on my pattern for my Renegade dress.  I hope I finish it on time.

Hope you enjoyed my night's randomness!
